Ronnie Peoples has a Bachelors in Fine Arts from East Carolina University and a Associates Degree from Pitt Community College. His concentration and medium of choice is photography. Using the many alternative processes of photography, he explores concepts of cultural and self-identity, as well as racial inequality and systemic oppression.
"I explore the many processes of photography to convey concepts that are often interpersonal, but also sociopolitical, and relatable to many others outside of myself. The alternative methods of making an image are at times uncontrollable and unpredictable providing something unique every single time. This lack of control allows me to work alongside photography as a process forcing me to accept the outcome and react to the decisions it chooses make. Much like the subjects, topics, and themes represented in my images."
